Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and lentil stew. Esau ate the meal, then got up and left. He showed contempt for his rights as the firstborn. Genesis 25:34 NLT
One of my mentors dropped some game on me nearly 10 years ago that has always stuck with me.
I was working on a deal at the time with a friend and we'd tried to bring in my mentor. After getting the details we were anxious for his thoughts.
My mentor simply asked, "Y'all chasing snacks or want to eat a meal?" Meaning if we were willing to do the work, the opportunity could be structured far greater than it currently was.
Sometimes our "hunger" for a goal, status, or person is so hearty we decide to exchange what we've already been granted for the low in a moment of weakness.
Esau chased a snack, one measly plate - but sold his entire inheritance as the firstborn for it. The birthright was rightfully his; yet Esau's hunger compromised his reasoning.
#Issa snack always ready, but a whole meal takes time to prepare and inherit. Stifle hunger long enough to get that plate that's rightfully yours.
God's Morning and Be Blessed.
